A former dancer, Southern Methodist University Graduate with a BA in Psychology, and die-hard lover of movement and problem-solving, Laura is obsessed with learning how the body works and moves as a connected system. She loves that the head bone is connected to the foot bone (no, not a typo - the head bone really IS connected to the foot bone - ask her all about it). 

 

Laura's lifelong journey with scoliosis propelled her into a deeper relationship with her body and a genuine understanding of how the body works. She was motivated by her desire to continue living fully as she ages, despite her previous physical limitations. Now, she helps her clients do the same. Movement is life!

Laura began her career in Pilates with a certification from Romana's Pilates in 2013. From there, she taught in Pilates studios all over New York City and eventually landed at Pilates on 66. The educational, knowledge-thirsty environment at Pilates on 66 lead her to even more continuing education, first with a certification in Feet-ness, a fitness method that brings attention to your feet as a vital missing link in your total body workout. 

And now, with a certification in ELDOA™, a method that makes space in your spine to ease pain and improve optimal functioning of the body. This method puts the power back into the hands of the mover with the guiding philosophy: "You are your own best (physical) therapist."

And she is on her way to earning her certification as a Soma Trainer. 

With these combined learnings and a thirst for more, Laura is set on providing her clients with tools that empower them to make the changes in their bodies that they are looking for to keep moving in a life they love.

Why work with Laura?

It’s just like they told us in kindergarten - we are each unique, as are our bodies. We each come from a unique background physically, professionally, mentally and emotionally - therefore, each of our bodies has its own story to tell.  I don’t believe in “one size fits all” for the body, which is why I work so closely with my clients to observe how they move, understand their lifestyle, and facilitate movement that will support them in aligning and strengthening their bodies so they can live fully embodied.
